Due to privacy requirements and the inability to verify identity over the phone, the Yellow Springs Police Department cannot provide warrant information by telephone.

If you believe you may have an active warrant, you may:

Visit the Yellow Springs Police Department in person.
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID so staff can verify your identity and assist you.

Contact the appropriate court.
You may contact the Clerk of Courts for the jurisdiction where the matter originated to inquire about your status.
    

The Village of Yellow Springs regulates the outdoor storage of unlicensed, inoperable, and junk vehicles to help maintain safe and accessible neighborhoods.

Under Yellow Springs Codified Ordinance Section 660.07, vehicles stored outdoors on private property may be considered a violation if they are:

Unlicensed – A vehicle without a current registration.
Inoperable – A vehicle that cannot move under its own power.
Junk – A vehicle that is both inoperable and extensively damaged.
Loose vehicle parts – Outdoor storage of major vehicle components, such as engines, doors, or axles, is also prohibited.

Special rules may apply to historic or collector vehicles, but these vehicles must remain operable to be stored outdoors.

How the Process Works
When a violation is reported or discovered, the Village may issue a Notice to Remove. Property owners or residents are given time to correct the violation by properly storing or removing the vehicle.

Continued non-compliance may result in enforcement action.

2. Vehicle description (make, model, color, license plate status if visible)
3. A description of the concern
     

The Yellow Springs Police Department typically does not provide official background checks for employment, housing, or other civil purposes.

The process depends on what the requesting organization requires:
    
Fingerprint Card Requests
If you have been provided a blank fingerprint card, the Police Department may assist with fingerprinting. Bring the blank card and a valid photo ID.
    
Electronic Background Checks (WebCheck)
For electronic background checks, such as BCI or FBI WebCheck, you must visit an authorized WebCheck provider.
