A MESSAGE FROM CHIEF PAIGE BURGE

Whether you are a lifelong resident, a local business owner, or a visitor exploring our vibrant village, we are glad you are here.

Our department is entirely Community First and Values Driven. To us, community policing is not “extra” work that fits into a shift; it is the core of our daily mission.

We believe public safety is a shared responsibility. True safety cannot be achieved by a police department working in isolation; it requires an active, transparent, and trusting partnership between our team and the community we serve.

To support that partnership, our department is committed to an internal culture that prioritizes the well-being of our employees as people first. Our dispatchers, officers, and Community Outreach Specialists carry out demanding and essential work as caretakers of our community. By supporting our team and ensuring their “cups” are full, we ensure they have the energy, resilience, and compassion needed to serve the Village each day.

A key focus for us in 2026 is strengthening communication and ensuring you always know what your police department is doing and why. To stay connected with us in real time, I invite you to take two simple actions:

• Follow the Yellow Springs Police Department on Facebook to see regular updates on community policing efforts, safety tips, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of our team.
• Sign up for Village alerts through our official app, YSConnect (available for iPhone and Android), to receive timely, plain-language updates regarding traffic, local events, or safety notices

Thank you for your continuous support, your feedback, and your shared commitment to keeping Yellow Springs a safe, welcoming, and inclusive place for everyone. Please never hesitate to say hello when you see us out on patrol.
