In January 2017, Amplifier, a social justice advocacy group, commissioned Shepard Fairey to design a series of posters. The “We the People” series was created in protest of Donald Trump. The first words of the United States Constitution are combined with images of Native Americans, African Americans, Muslims, and Latinas. “We thought [they were the] groups that had been . . . criticized by Trump and maybe were going to be . . . feeling that their needs would be neglected in a Trump administration,” Fairey says. Submitted by Catherine Roma who obtained these at the January 2017 Women’s March from strangers who were distributing the posters for all to take.
