Celebrating Public Power Week in the Village
The Village of Yellow Springs joins over 2,000 public power systems in recognition of Public Power Week, as designated by the American Public Power Association (AMP). To commemorate this event week, Mayor Pam Conine, Village of Yellow Springs, issued a proclamation stating, in part, "Our Village Department of Public Works is a dependable and trustworthy institution whose local operation makes our community a better place to live and work, and contributes to a sustainable environment."
Electric and Water Distribution Foremen, Ben Sparks, credits this outstanding recognition to the team's efforts, and to the continued collaboration of the entire Yellow Springs Public Works department. "Electric is only one branch of Public Works,” Sparks says. “When there is an emergency involving electric, team members from other departments respond quickly to assist," Sparks continues by assigning the team's outstanding performance, dedication, and consistency to that of viewing their service as more than just a job, but a family. "I am proud of our team!"
By Mayoral Proclamation, the Village of Yellow Springs is pleased to recognize the Yellow Springs Department of Public Works for its contributions to the community, by officially declaring October 3-9, 2021 as Celebrating Public Power Week in the Village.
