The Village of Yellow Springs is conducting a thorough inspection of all water service lines as part of our Service Line Inventory for the EPA. This includes documenting the materials of the service lines and gathering additional details, such as the condition of customer-owned shut-off valves.
There are still 393 accounts we need to classify, and, as required by the EPA, we will be sending a letter to each household whose service line status is currently "Lead Status Unknown."
If you do not receive a letter, it means we've already confirmed that your service line is made from a non-lead material.
We know this may raise concerns, and we will be providing more information soon to help you confirm your service line status. Keep an eye out for updates in your utility bills, on our website, Facebook page, and via CivicPlus notifications.
