Solid Waste
Effective December 21, 2022, and continuing through October 21, 2023, Rumpke will continue to provide weekly solid waste collection and curbside recycling collection services for all single-family, multi-family, and commercial units within the Village of Yellow Springs.

Rumpke will collect (2) bulk items per week on their regular service day. Additional large items will be $20.00 each year one, and $21.00 each year two.

All mattresses and box springs and upholstered furniture must be wrapped prior to collection.

Freon-containing appliances must have the freon removed by a certified professional and tagged as such prior to collection. Rumpke shall invoice the Village according to the following tier system and commercial rate schedule below.

Service B - Recycling

All rates quoted above under Residential Services include weekly curbside recycling collection. Each residence will be provided with one (1) 65-gallon recycling cart to hold their comingled recyclables.

Service C - Excess. Garbage and/or Refuse - Any garbage in excess of the chosen Tier level will require the purchase of a sticker for each additional bag set out.

Service E - Annual Curbside Spring Clean-Up
Each Spring, residents may set out an unspecified number of items for collection during a given week. All items must be bagged, containerized, and/or securely tied in 4x4 bundles. No loose garbage will be picked up. The village will post specifications for the event in advance.

Optional Spring Clean Up
Rumpke proposes the Roll-Off Container pricing grid below for the village to consider. This containerized approach could be used as a replacement for or in addition to the annual Spring clean-up program. Rumpke would coordinate with Village staff on the logistics of the Roll Off Drop Off program. In this scenario, residents or village staff would be responsible for delivering refuse to the designated container site and loading the material into containers.
